Am I correct to assume that this group has not had any action since May??

Description
The new SF Wing Women Group is designed for queer women to connect with other andro, Butch Women, and femmes for that matter, who want to enjoy the many different events in the SF Bay Area, and prefer the company of other queer women to attend. This is a queer woman, female identified group. We are all ages, sizes, cultures and go from one end of the spectrum to the other. We are all queer women who want to connect and go out and enjoy what the Bay Area has to offer!

"It wasn't just going alone that was the problem;
it was what to do with myself once I got there!"

This is not a dating or hookup group, but rather a group of queer women who post events that they would like to go to in hope of finding a few others who are interested in going with, or meeting up to go together ( 2 + other people - not a date).

How it works

1. You have an idea. You want to go to a movie, a concert, a club, the museum, dinner, etc. and want some company. You don't want a date per se, you are just more comfortable going with someone, and actually hope to meet someone new there! You now become "The Organizer" and need to post a message for SF Wing Women to join you.


2. "The Organizer" posts the details of the event. Make sure you include

• Who you are - photos are good as a way to know who to look for when you meet
• What you want to do
• Where the event is
• Dates and times - give some notice so people can plan ahead
• Cost
• Meet up location
• Meet up time
• Transportation
• Ask members to RSVP to your email address and/or phone number.

3. Hopefully two or more Wing Women respond, (2+ maybe more comfortable). Wing Women need to exchange info, cell phone, etc., in their reply and RSVP to confirm the where and when.


4. There are NO expectations of money, transportation, etc. All Wing Women need to make their own arrangements to meet up with "The Organizer". Wing Women expect to pay your own way, and be responsible for your own transportation, unless you set up something with "The Organizer" and make other arrangements.


5. If you make arrangements as "The Organizer" or RSVP as a Wing Woman, you commit to meet someone. If you don't show up, don't call to cancel, or let "The Organizer" know you're running late, you may be branded an unreliable Wing Woman!

Irresponsible, inappropriate behavior is not ok.
Use common sense and courtesy. Be nice. Be responsible! Treat other Wing Women how you deserve to be treated!


Definition

Wing Women is a term that defines two or more queer women who accompany each other when they go to an event or happening in the community, without the awkwardness of going alone.

Wing Women are expected to support each other at an event, rather than suffer through shyness and being alone.

Wing Women motivate each other to be social in an attempt to go out and enjoy the many events and happenings in and around the SF Bay Area, and if needed, practice approaching women. NOT like the term “wingmen”, which is more misogynistic and predatory based on targeting and approaching women.

Other responsibilities include confirm meeting times and places, pay your own way, organize your own transportation, be dependable on your commitment to show up, and not flake.
